Abstract

This article delves into the Enlightenment philosophy and its profound impact on English literature, particularly during the 18th century. Through an analysis of key literary works, such as those by Alexander Pope, Jonathan Swift, and John Dryden, this study explores how Enlightenment ideals of reason, skepticism, and humanism are reflected in English literature. By examining the philosophical underpinnings and literary techniques employed by Enlightenment writers, this article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Enlightenment's influence on the development of English literature.
